Last weekend we turned the heating off, pulled off our winter socks and rescued the battered flip-flops out from under the bed. Summer played us an encore and it was quite a treat. In Ireland, some activities aren’t weather dependent (next week we’ll tell you about our first visit to IKEA – we’re bracing ourselves already).
However, others are. Why don’t you let us know how you enjoyed the last blast of Indian Summer? Did you go on a picnic to the park? How about a swim at your local beach? Did any of you go fishing? Who threw a barbeque? Maybe you sat outside your local and watched the world go by. Or perhaps you shunned the sun and actually did spend Sunday in IKEA. Some of us are delicate flowers who don’t like the heat, after all.
Now, our friend Saibh spent Sunday afternoon scaling her first ever rock-face in Dalkey Quarry. Relying on her experience of abseiling in Delphi Adventure Centre aged 12, she made it about half way up before howling and crying out to be lowered down again. Her arms were sore ‘til Wednesday but it was ‘definitely worth it’.
Promise we didn’t just turn the photo sideways – she’s not just doing a press up on the ground.
