Squelching, dripping, mucky mud. If you happened to be lucky enough to be in Stradbally, Co Laois for the Electric Picnic it's probably stuck in your mind - and possibly still stuck to your clothes.
Here in Fruit Towers we're big fans of picnics, naturally. Now that we seem to be getting a few days of August in September, we're planning on taking advantage in the local park with some of our smoothies this weekend. But we can't make our minds up about mud.
Sometimes mud can be good for getting things growing. Which is good. But it tends to seep into everything and it's not so nice to be stuck in. Which is bad.
There are also a lot of claims of health benefits of mud:
- it’s full of nutrients and minerals.
- it has brilliant moisturising and cleansing properties – get’s rid of fat, dirt (isn’t mud dirt??), dead skin cells and other bad stuff.
- it feels incredible – don’t believe me? Have a mud bath.
- it has medicinal properties and has been used for donkey’s years to help heal ailments such as arthritis, scarring, psoriasis and other skin conditions.
- It induces relaxation ….oh and it looks like chocolate – yummm.
Mud smoothie anyone? ….maybe not. Certainly not for this guy. He's had enough.
Post a link to your best muddy pictures or videos from Electric Picnic (or just from your garden) in the comments and we might send you some smoothies. Because it's Friday. And because we can.
