All the kids heading back to school this week got us thinking. It didn't always seem like fun at the time but now we sometimes quite miss the old classroom, when the only thing we had to worry about is whether we'd cross paths with that boy from down the road on the walk home.
So in our most recent innocent news we asked people what they missed about it and we'd send them a notebook.
Gillian in Dublin writes:
"I miss being able to hang out with friends during lunch. I miss being able to sleep in the back of the class and not have my boss walk into my office as soon as I give and start drooling on my keyboard. I miss the most important thing being if Eric is going to call me back. And this also being the most important thing for my friends too. None of this bills crap.
I miss the second most important thing being that you have to write down things told to you in class and remember it around April/May.
And the thing I miss the most about school is HOLIDAYS. Lots and lots of holidays. An entire summer off to work on the tan."
Kate in Newcastle West, Co Limerick said:
"Missing school these days because of the quality time I get to spend with my friends at lunchtime drinking innocent smoothies!"
And Niamh in Dublin 9 gave us a lovely stream of consciousness:
"Teachers talking
Students shouting
Changing classrooms
Books bursting from schoolbags
Ugly uniforms
Lunchtime laughs
Hours of homework
Feeling free
Looking forward to the Future"
