So the other night at a gathering in a friends house I discovered that I had a hidden talent - throwing a winged spear through the air into a wooden board. Yes that's right, darts. Who knew? Not only had I never played before but I was up against some very over-confident very experienced young men (you know who you are), who quickly lost their mojo when I landed two bulls eyes in a row to win the game. I'm still smiling about it three days later.
So it got me thinking, how many people out there have a hidden talent that they don't know about? Or even better, have a talent they know about but don't want to admit to? I got on the case and asked around, and boy are my mates a talented lot....Sarah admitted to me that she can play the piano perfectly while lying on the ground with her two hands crossed behind her head (how she discovered she could do this I have no idea). Claire is double jointed so she can bend her thumb right back without breaking it (arghhhh), and Mike told me that he can sleep for 24 hours straight without waking (ah, not exactly a talent in most people's books Mike but we'll give it to you).
So come on people, spill the beans, what are your hidden talents? We'll pick our favourite and shower you with innocent goodies.
Strangely my hidden talent is Video games. This is very strange because I hate them. Especially the shoot em up ones. Give me mario cart and I bring home the gold, give me Call of duty and I win the war for allies. All of this despite never really playing them before.
I only really play 30 mins a week (and that is being generous) before I get bored but I can easily take on my roomie who plays 10+ hours a week (sometimes a day!).
Saying he's bitter about this hidden talent doesn't quite cover it... :)
