Located in the Caribbean, surrounded by gorgeous crystal blue waters Haiti is the poorest country in the western world.
In the last few years the people of Haiti have had to deal with a whole host of problems such as political instability, food riots, and severe water scarcity. You’d think they had been dealt enough.
On Tuesday night at 22:00 GMT a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit just south of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince causing unbelievable devastation and loss of life on a massive scale.
Concern Worldwide have been working in Haiti since 1994 doing amazing work to help improve people's lives. They are out there on the ground now in the middle of this disaster and are urgently trying to raise funds to go towards the rescue and to provide food, water, shelter, and medical assistance to people who really need help right now. Today they gave us a call and asked us to post a message on our blog.
