We had a wonderful two days of knitting at the Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures over the weekend. Amidst the wonderful atmosphere of different cultures and people from all walks of life, there was some serious knitting. The innocent Big Knit booth was was right next to the music stage and sea and we were joined by kids, men, women and teenagers soaking up the great atmosphere and getting some serious knitting done. The pictures say it all.
Jolein knit us a hat while she listened to her boyfriend playing the saxophone live on-stage.
We were joined by a knitting dad whose daughter Sophie also knitted some hats.
Kathleen from Kilkenny, a knitting pro, knit us this lovely hat while her husband waited patiently.
Knitting sisters Sinead and Teresa were joined by one of the male knitting talents, Eoin, who was taught by his Mam of course.
Just because you're too young to knit doesn't mean you can't enjoy a giant ball of wool as toddler Cuán showed.
Thanks to the lots of who people stopped by and got involved in the knitting action.
