So autumn’s here, and though leaves, raindrops, and judging by the 48A this morning, faces, may be falling, at innocent we’ve decided to buck the trend and gear up for some decidedly spring-like growth - in the number of hats we can count on our Big Knit hatometer, of course. Our resident geniuses, bless ‘em, have been hard at work putting together the Big Comknitment - a Facebook-based pledge campaign that we’d love you check out. Basically, you pledge to knit 20 hats and tell 5 friends about the campaign, and in return we send a pack containing wool and knitting needles to the first 250 who sign up. We also add every pledge’s name to our roll of honour, so you can see the company you’re keeping, and know that each time you pick up your needles, it’s not just you being all awesome: you’re part of a whole community of awesomeness.
And since it’s back-to-school season (on behalf of the parents everywhere, we heave a deep sigh of relief), we’re looking for schools and colleges to get involved too, as well as knitting groups who are meeting up again, dying to get clacking after a long summer’s knitting drought. But still, most important are the lovely people like you, who sign up just for the hell of it, and use their creative skills - no matter how limited - to help a great cause. The Big Comknitment: possibly the best way to spend a dark evening.
