Hats glorious hats. We're literally swimming in them lately. Really, they're everywhere. We've spent all day packing up loads them for posting to our smoothie factory so they can be put on the tops of little smoothie bottles. Our first batch, 40,000 hats, was shipped off today. We're still counting all your wonderful hats and we'll be shipping the rest off next week. We still can't get over the generousity of all the knitters out there who have dedicated their time and effort to the innoncent Big Knit to raise money for Age Action. We also still get blown away by the knitting talent out there. It takes forever to pack little hats when we spend half of the time oggling and admiring some of the amazing creations you've sent in.
These pictures say it all. Here's Ali, Helen, and JP getting ready to load the hats into JP's van.
Here's Helen about to brave the wind and make a dash for JP's van.

We finally see the fabulous Helen! Well done for counting so many!!!

Its so good to see just how close we got to the target. I've had lots of people asking me when they are in the shops can you let me know.

So I went to Spar yesterday and got a bottle complete with hat, but when I went back today, Spar had taken all the hats off the bottles :(
I asked why, but the guy behind the counter didn't really understand me, so just gave me a hat from a bag behind the counter. Do the proceeds still go to Age Action even though Spar are being spoilsports and taking the hats off?

Hello Rebecca,
Thanks for getting in touch and for buying a hatted bottle.
We're really sad to hear that Spar removed the hats. Could you let me know which Spar it was so we can give them a call?
We'll still be giving 25c to Age Action for all the bottles sold.
